Bridal Makeup and Hair by Susie Hassocks_edited_edited.jpg

Cakey makeup nightmares and frizz ball hair do not apply when it comes to working with me!

Hello, my name is Susie.

It’s over ten years since I first started painting faces.

During that time I’ve clocked up hundreds of hours of wedding mornings, worked with lovely families from all over the world ranging from four to 84, celebrated freckles and wafted litres of lavender oil under nervy noses!

Perhaps you've arrived on my page because you're someone who doesn’t really wear makeup but is feeling the pressure to put your 'best face' on for the photos?

Maybe you love makeup and just want to relax on your wedding morning avoiding jittery eyeliner application and wobbly lipstick?

Or perhaps you want to feel natural and comfortable. Confident that your fiancé will recognise you as you walk down the aisle towards them?

My work, skills and experience have naturally evolved over the years but my approach to bridal makeup and hair remains rooted in celebrating what makes you 'you'. My aim is to help you look and feel beautiful, not cover you up but enhance and embrace all that you are.

My services are relaxed and inclusive, whatever stage of life you're at, whether you’re having a small intimate affair or a big ole shindig of a day.

A little bit more from me...

My aim is to help create a relaxed, fun environment for you and your bridal party.

It's hugely important to me that you have an enjoyable, hassle free wedding morning.

I’m a great reader of rooms having once worked in crisis management so tend to remain calm as a cucumber in most situations.

I'm also always happy to help where I can.

I’ve got a fair few brides into their dresses, cut out lots of labels, zipped people up and pinned on buttonholes.

Provided plasters and sewing kits, emergency safety pins, extra hair grips, hunted down ginger tea and the list could go on!

My story...

Before I was a wedding makeup and hair artist, I moved around the world doing PR and marketing. I relocated from London to Nuremberg to Johannesburg for various jobs styling lookbooks, running events, art directing photoshoots and creating press materials over the course of a few years. Eventually coming back to retrain at the London College of Fashion and then onto Brighton, where I put down roots.

In addition to bridal makeup and hair, I have previously been a contributer and expert on the beauty panel of Your Sussex Wedding magazine where I helped solve reader's makeup and beauty dilemmas. I have also volunteered with the women’s cancer charity Look Good, Feel Better.

I'm fortunate to have had an amazing wedding in 2014, and have since added two energetic, gorgeous kiddos into the mix. When I think back, it was an incredible day. The hard work, effort and attention to detail paid off and we had a wonderful sunny afternoon surrounded by the people we love most in life.
