Three Ways To Flawless Wedding Day Skin

Every bride I meet wants her skin to look flawless on her wedding day - but unfortunately, our skin can sometimes have other ideas.

Self-care ahead of your big day is so important. Take good care of yourself as a priority and you'll look and feel relaxed, rested and ready to enjoy every single second of the build up to and day of your wedding.

As well as being kind and gentle to your skin in the lead up, it's worth obeying the mantra 'you are what you eat' because what you're putting into your body will undoubtedly show itself in your skin as well. For example, if you're loading up with sugary sweets and treats, your blood sugar will soar and affect your hormones, resulting in breakouts on your chin and jawline.

Generally as a rule, when you look good you feel good, so if you're interested in getting that bridal glow, here are three ways to flawless wedding day skin:

1) Food and Drink

Aim to drink two litres of water a day to help cleanse your system and get rid of toxins. This will also help with sugar cravings if you have them

Also up your intake of dark leafy green veggies like kale and spinach, which will help smooth your skin AND lower stress levels.

EXTRA TIP: add raspberries, a slice of lemon or cucumber to your water to liven it up and get an extra vitamin kick.

2) No More Facials

Avoid facials in the weeks leading up to your big day to minimise risk of breakouts or adverse reactions to new products.

If you've been under the care of an expert beautician for at least six months, take their advice on when you should have your last one before the wedding. They'll know and understand your skin by this point. Otherwise, best not to rock the boat!

3) Catch Some zzzzzzs

Get lots of sleep in the weeks beforehand, it's worth having lie-ins as much as possible and work on getting yourself off to bed just half an hour earlier.

Sometimes in the days before you might be too excited to sleep so get some in the bank beforehand. Feeling well rested on your wedding day will make your skin look fresh and healthy, as well as help you stay relaxed.

I’d love you to share, in the comments below, you've seen an improvement in your skin as a result of these tips? Have you noticed a difference from getting more sleep? And how do you relax when the wedding stresses are getting on top of you?
